  • Who owns Advanced Markets?

The company is privately held. Outside investors include Macquarie Americas Corp Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Macquarie Bank and GFI Group Inc.

  • Why is your physical address in the United States but you are registered as a Cayman Islands Corporation?

The Advanced Markets Group has formed Advanced Markets LTD (“AMLTD”), as a Cayman Islands corporation in order to be able to continue providing our services under governance that enables us to offer a broader range of products to our clients.  AMLTD, as a registered foreign entity, is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (“ASIC”) under Financial Services License #444649.  AMLTD is registered to provide products and services to Wholesale Clients, as defined in the Corporations Act 2001.   The firm’s administrative duties are fulfilled via a service level agreement with our customer service team located in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States.

  • Can I pull data from the API?

The API is a pricing feed only. There is a WebAPI that can be accessed for data. This option does require a monthly fee.

  • Can I get a GUI access to my API for administrative purposes that can be blocked from trading?


  • Can I trade or close positions from the GUI in the event my API connection or internet has issues?

Yes. Using the GUI User Interface, you can close out trades on behalf of the API account. Keep in mind that any trading on the GUI will not flow thru the API onto your frontend. You will need to manually close/remove them on your frontend at some point.

  • Does the API have a GUI?

The API is pricing only. However, we can connect to User Interface which is a GUI platform to access the trades on the API.

  • When reviewing the market depth on a currency pair can I see the actual bank that is providing a particular price?

No. As a courtesy to our liquidity providers we will not show their name associated to the prices that are displayed. Bank names are provided as Bank1, Bank2 and so on. You can see multiple pricing /tiers from each bank.

  • Can I log into the GUI platform from multiple computers at the same time?

No. For security reasons and the integrity of trading, each GUI can only have one computer logged in at any one time.

  • I am interested in opening a retail account. Can I do that with Advanced Markets?

No, we can only accept a Wholesale client as defined by Section 761G(7) and 761G(A) of the Australian Corporations Act.  For more information on Wholesale Client requirements please visit the following site.

  • What is accepted as a proof of address?

If your address is correct on your photo ID we can accept that, however if the address is not correct or not on your photo ID, proof of address can be provided in the form of a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 2-3 months.

  • What do I need to open a trading account?

You will need to complete an Advanced Markets Application along with a valid photo ID, current proof of address, a Wholesale Client Questionnaire and complete corporate articles if you are opening the accountant for a corporation. There may be additional documents required depending on your Wholesale Questionnaire qualification.

  • What leverage is offered per trade?

Standard Leverage offered is 100:1 for currencies.

  • What is the commission structure?

Standard commission is set at $20.00 per USD Million.  This standard may be negotiable based on the volumes traded.

  • Which authority is Advanced Markets registered by?
